Bio-Layer Interferometry

Biolayer Interferometry (BLI) can measure both binding affinities and on- and off-rates. For this technique, a molecule is stably loaded onto a biosensor. Following this load, the biosensors are then dipped into the corresponding binding molecule to be tested. By measuring the interference pattern a thickness of material on the surface can be measured. The amount of material on the surface and the on- and off-rates are then measured and can measure the binding affinity (KD)
ForteBio (Sartorius) Octet Red 96
Acquired in 2015, the Octet Red 96 has 8-channels that allow for a complete binding profile of molecular interactions in a single run. Multiple runs can be coupled together and as many as 96 biosensors can be used in a single run. It can also be used for quantitation and epitope binning.
